The Dresdner Kleinwort Summer Internship Programme is a fantastic opportunity for you to experience a career and lifestyle within investment banking and, if successful, you could find yourself fast-tracked to a permanent Graduate position for when you graduate in 2010. The London office recruits students in their penultimate year of study onto our 10-week Summer Internship programme into the following areas:

  • Capital Markets – Sales, Trading, Research, Structuring and Derivatives
  • Global Banking
  • Information Technology
  • Risk Management

Entry criteria

You need to:

  • already hold or confidently expect to achieve at least a 2:1 honours degree or equivalent in any discipline
  • be graduating between January and June, 2010
  • have 300 UCAS points (24 UCAS points under the previous tariff) at A-level (or equivalent) excluding General studies and completed within one year
  • have Maths GCSE (or equivalent) at Grade A or B
  • be fluent in English
  • Have the permanent right to work in the UK

Application process – Summer internships

Applications for the Dresdner Kleinwort Summer Internship Programme open on Monday 1 September 2008. However, we will not be processing applications until December/ January so you will not hear back from us until early January, with Assessment Centres taking place from mid-February. The deadline for the Summer Internship Programme is 6 February 2009, however we encourage you to apply as soon as possible as applications are screened on a rolling basis with assessment centre slots allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Recruitment process

If the responses on your application form match our selection criteria, you will be invited to complete our online numerical reasoning test. If your skills profile meets our requirements, you will be invited to attend a day long Assessment Centre. This will include a further numerical reasoning test and, if you are successful, interviews that will be assessed according to our competency framework. Those who are successful at this stage will be offered positions on our Summer Internship Programme.

Immigration rules

All job offers for our Summer Internship Programme are subject to candidates having a permanent right to work in the UK. Or you must hold a student visa, valid until the end of your course which will cover the duration of the Internship.
